Getting Here

Pietrelcina can be reached easily from Rome, Naples or Bari airports. The nearest large town is Benevento and is just 15 minutes away from the town of Pietrelcina. Taxi’s are always available outside the station and it will cost you €25 euros for the 10 to 15 minute journey to your accommodation.

Rome to Benevento – this takes about 2 hours and costs about €50. There are about 3 or 4 direct trains a day. You can also take a local train which is cheaper and takes about 3 hours. You can also take a super-fast train to Naples (about 1 hour – and a bit more expensive) When you reach Naples, take a train to Benevento.

Naples to Benevento – This is the nearest airport to Benevento. The local train takes about 1 hour and cost only €4.50. If there is not a local train available, you can take the intercity ones which travel through Casserta and take about an hour and a half in all. These cost about €12. (tip – get the local ones!)

Bari to Benevento – This is further away than Naples but has good bus and train connections – it costs €28 and takes about 2 hours 15 minutes. The train station in Bari is easy to reach from Bari airport – just 30 minutes on the bus or €20 by taxi.

Groups and private coach hire – As well as the station taxis – you can contact a taxi or mini bus service in Pietrelcina.

One of these is Alfredo Frangiosi Via Gregaria, 26, Pietrelcina BN. Tel: +39 3351249954 – He, or his brother, can pick you up from Benevento station in a taxi or Mini-van. However, his main business is international haulage, so if you have large loads to transport around Europe, he’s you man.

Another is Cosimo Gagliardi who takes people all over Italy and will collect your group from Rome, Naples or Bari. He will also take you to see other places in Italy if that is what you want.
